ho-we crap
Well I was looking around online classified ads and posted that I was looking for a terrarium and someone e-mailed me saying that they are in my area and they just started their own reptile store, and since I am looking to get a second snake I sent him an e-mail to get the cost of a second setup through him, which I know in stores would run me $300-$400 at least for this list of stuff:
Terarium 36 x 18 x 15 w/ lid
Habi-Scape Fossil Wall, 40-gal (34.75" x 15.25") / Pet-Tech Products
Exo Terra 10.0 (Large) Black Dome Glow Reflector (I have bulbs already)
Exo Terra 2x Thermometer and 1x Hygrometer
Reptile Cave, X-Large (11" x 11" x 5"), Exo-Terra
Exo Terra Granite Rock Feeding Dish, Large (9" x 11")
Exo Terra 2x Silk Terrarium Plant, Abutilon (large)
all items are brand new from factory, it is only going to cost me $235 CND plus applicable taxes (14%), so all I can say is ho-we crap...
so my PB can move into that setup and when I get the western Hognose it can move into my 10gal setup to grow up a bit and then I will just have to get a new tank since I will have everything else....

Any chance you own stock in Exo-terra?
Take a look outside the box for supplies, you'll save a fortune. You can get silk plants anywhere cheaper than you can a pet store, light fixtures too. Buy the 99 cent spray bottle at Wal-Mart instead of the $9 "reptile mister" at the petstore.

no I dont own stocks but I like their quality over most of the other brands, and I already have that light fixture and I like it which is why I want another one and I am using a no name spray bottle, and if I do go through this guy I will already be saving a lot of money...

There are a few things I'll buy from petstores, but I avoid it when I can. Glad to hear you're getting such a good deal though (except on the tax...eek).

I got my 40-gallon used for $50. It came with 2 heat lamps, bulbs, and a water dish. You can pick up stuff for really cheap on Craig's list (if you have that) or if you look around a little. Some people even give it away.

It costs me about 40 bucks to build a 4x2 front opening stackable cage. Fish tanks are great for keeping fish not so great for snake cages...though they do in a pinch for some species...but you still can't stack them.
