Fun with a scammer

I guess anyone that's ever put anything up for sale anywhere on the internet has had their share of "offers" from Nigerians and other foreigners trying to convince you that they have paid through the USPS by money order and the USPS is holding the funds till you provide them with the tracking number from fedex blah blah blah. I decided to play along with one for sport and see what his game was. He finally sent me a shipping slip to mail him a camera beliving that I believe that the USPS was holding 900 bucks for me at the post office lol. So, I figure what do I have to lose? It's his Fedex account (I think...heck, he may have stolen that too come to think of it) but anyway, I filled a box full of about 15 pounds of golf club heads from the ones I cut off to make snake hooks and shipped them to him with a nasty little note. Hopefully the account really is his and he gets stuck with the shipping charge

You gotta love the "Official letter" from the "post office (actually the email came from uniteddelivery@post.com) lo inform me they are holding payment. You would think even a Nigerian scam artist by now would have figured out how to make their letter seem more legit.

Hope he/they get the messege. But I just know that they will move on to the next person and try again.

My friend Aaron had a great time with one who was interested in his GTP babies that he was selling. They actually sent him a fake money order at more than the amount. He e-mailed them back saying his banker wouldn't let him cash it with that name on it. He needed it re done with another name. He also told the gal that he thought she sounded "hot" and wanted her picture. It was hilarious. He posted each response he sent. I was rolling on the floor.

LOL nice move Brett. I really do hope it was their fed ex account.

I had some person who barely spoke english calling my cell phone every day twice a day at 9 am and 4 pm like clock work. They kept saying I "Needed to fill my percriptions" and needed a credit card number to finish the transaction. After I explained I was not written any percriptions and did not want them to call again they kept calling. So I decided to up and play their little game. I gave them a bogus credit card number based on the same number series AMEX uses and a mailing addy of the local FBI building in town. I haven't heard a peep from them since.. My bet would be they tried a transfer on that bogus AMEX number and got squat so they moved on.

I also like to have fun with these scam artists. They often reply to my ads on Craigs list. I will usually get 3 or more of the exact same offer with a different name. So I copy their ads and send them to each other. I usually tell them I am very interested comment what a coincidence it is that they all know each other!

BTW, you can turn them in by reporting them to their internet company at
"abuse@(fill in company).com Example: abuse@yahoo.com
