I am engaged!
Sunday, Feb 18th at 5:30 CST I asked Jillian Ringold to marry me. Here is how I did it.
For the past 3 months I have been setting all of this up.
My plan was a photo story. Me and Jill setup Sunday to do V-day because she had to work on the 14th. At 5:00 we left to go to III Forks, halfway to the restaurant I mentioned I was low on gas and needed to make a stop. I get out of the car and then find out that I "left" my wallet at home. So we head back to her house and I reach under the car seat and hand her a package. I told her to open this while I find my wallet.
The gift was a photo book. The first page had a sticky note that said "Read each page carefully".

The last page had a sticky note that said "find me inside....I have a pen and suprise"
After waiting inside for about 5 minutes I hear the door open, so I wait for her. She comes up to me crying her eyes out and I hand her the pen. I then get down on one knee and ask the question, she says yes. I open the ring box and like a doofus hand her the box with the ring exposed. She says "Don't you want to put it on my finger?" and I said "Oh yeah, sorry". I couldn't help it, I was nervous and shaking the whole time.
After that she called all of her friends/family and we headed out to eat. The whole night she couldn't keep her eyes off the ring, and she even tried to bring the photo book into the restaurant.
Once we get everything figured out I will post the details. Right now we are trying to get a date set, then go from there.

Edit: One thing, if you know anyone in the DFW area that could help us save money on the future wedding please let me know. This wedding will be paid for by me and her alone, so we are on a tight budget. Also, the date will more and likely be 1 year from now.

Shane, I am sooo excited and happy for you both! I can’t wait till you guys have the wedding, I cant wait to see pictures from it. I’m just at a loss for words to convey how happy I am for you guys. Congratulations!!!

And since I am in the area, check out ..:: Matthew Blake Photography ::.. for photos. He is pretty good and his prices are reasonable.
For her dress, tell her to go to the shops and try on until she finds what she likes and the correct size, then order it over the internet. Saved me about $500.00 on my dress by ordering from a bridal shop in Louisiana rather than going to the store down the street to buy it.
I know a couple of really good bakeries for cakes including the one that made my cake although they are located in Ft. Worth. I do know one girl is really good in Frisco but don't know what her prices are like. She always brings cakes to our aquarium society meetings and she specializes in wedding cakes.
Anyway if interested in any of this shoot me a message and I can get you all the names and contact info.
