Upset!!!!
Well as most of you know I went out of town for 4 days. When I got back all of my animals were a mess. Most of the time when I am home everyone is more then helpful around here. While I was gone noone watered or fed anything. I was hurt by the lack of effort around here. It took me 4 hours to get everyone back to the way they needed to be. I so wish some of you lived near by. It would be great to have someone to trust enough to keep an eye on the animals. The Iguanas hadnt been fed 2 had no water. I feel like I let them down. They are all good now and they are getting spoiled. I bought every green and veggie they can eat along with thier fruits. I have come to realise without me around here they would die.
Ok I am done venting. |

I'm so sorry you had to come back to that. It must be so upsetting! Who was supposed to be caring for them? At least they are all okay now, Crush. 4 days is not that long. Good thing it wasn't a few weeks.
That was why I had the idea of vacation share for people on this site. I worry about leaving mine, too.

The kids and the GF usually help out. 4 days is long for the Iguanas to me. When it comes to my animals I am a clean freak. Windows water bowls everything has to be spottless. I clean everyday when I am home for those who need it. I clean and top off every water bowl everyday. All of the animals cats,dogs,snakes,lizards and turtles are like my kids I took them in and it is my job to make sure they have everything all the time. |

Crush....it sounds like you need to join/form a local herp society. I've never had to ask anyone from our herp society to check in on my animals while I'm away but I know they would.

I would have been furious if I had a BF and he didn't take care of them while I was gone for several days... Absolutely furious. I'm so sorry you came back home to that, but at least your babies have you now to spoil them.
