others will be along to go into all the details of the whole chicken thing for you I am sure. Allthough there are some people that will feed chicken to their snakes...I am NOT one of them.

Last time I saw chicken fed to a snake, the snake had such bad runs that it literally sprayed up the side of the cage... it was disgusting. Anyway, the main concern I would have with this is that the reason snakes eat whole prey is because in doing so, they consume what the prey item has eaten - stomach contents, kind of the same theory as gut loading a cricket. If you were feeding prepared meat, there would be some key things missing from the diet - that I believe in the long term would be detrimental. Just my opinion of course... I've not done it, nor known anyone to keep meticulous enough records to say so for a fact, but the theory is sound.

Also most snakes, especially a snake large enough to eat such a thing, needs fur or feather for roughage to help digest.

Someone I was once somewhat associated with once asked me what they should give a 75 lb water monitor for severe diarhea....I told em it's not so much what to give....but what to stop giving....ie raw chicken parts.

Our very on Natas does this on occasion. If I'm not mistaken he had a fussy feeder that this ended up being one of the thing's he tried. And it worked!
