You can boost the numeric value by making lots of posts. Generally, it seems like 1 point for every 25 posts. The green bars below it go up when people vote to increase your reputation. They click on the balance scale next to the red warning triangle  |

So that's how it works? I thought the bars were a representation of the rep power...and THAT came from the "scales" icon. I dunno...Mine is slow cuz imma nOOb.

I think I have figured it out! the scales icon directly increases your Rep Power if its Approval. I think the green bars is based on that and post count.

Yes but the math on that doesnt work. 18 (my rep) times 25 does not equal my actual post count. |
