Evicted because of my reptiles - Page 2

I think Ed brought up a really goodpoint.. They wanted you to select no that way later on they can evict you for them if they feel the need.. Thats pretty much a setup, problem is.. The law runs strictly on evidence facts and paperwork. If you signed a paper selecting NO for pets, regardless you will probably be evicted if they want that..

People are such a**holes now days.. Hey, have you paid your rent for this month? I would bring that up if the law gets invovled.. You have paid to stay there, say you will leave after your month is up.. Maybe that will by you some time..

Sorry to hear about all this man.. Hide all of em an let her check the apartment to see if they are gone, haha

Update:

Well I have to wait until I get word from the apartment complex but this is what I am doing.

First I am moving my reptiles over to my friends place for now. Thanks HerpinHippie.

2nd I am getting a document written up and signed by the witness who was there when I was A) Told I can Have pets and b)Told to check No when I asked if I needed to check yes because I have reptiles. After this is written I am getting it notorized (spelling?) and sent via First Class Mail to The corporate office.

Also I will include a letter of dispute over this incodent and also given them a little of my mind over some other BS that happened a few months ago.

Every time I read threads about RTBers getting into tifts with their landlords over their animals I feel very lucky to have my 20 pets in my 1 bedroom apartment without any trouble. My apartment complex even lets me use thier maintenance woodshop to build cages [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] !

Not sure if this helps, but something to consider -- it is my understanding that any object can be passed as a legal check, so long as it has written on it your name and bank account number, and the usual amount, date, etc. I don't know if you'll ever have to give these jerks any more money, but... Back in Chicago, in my college days, I had some friends who'd been yanked around a few too many times by their slumlord. The last check they gave him, they wrote on a large, very questionable mattress they'd found in the park. He had to take it.

Shane, Great place you got here (RTB.net that is). All i have to say is get everything in writing next time. It saves my bro's a$$ at work all the time and would have help in your case too. I agree with all above - this is utter, total, and complete boo-sheet. I'm glad you were able to find temporary housing for your snakes! Even if the management does simmer down now that you're moving the kids out, i'd start looking for another place to live, and get it down in writing that you can have herps there.
Also, if anyone needs any roughing up - well, i'm not saying that i or anyone close to me *cough*morti*cough* will go out there and do the roughing up, but i'm sure that something will happen. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

this is pretty discouraging. im planning to move out of state at the end of the summer and i currently have 11 reptiles in 6 cages and 2 dogs im planning to take with me. im going to be looking for an apartment and i have no idea how strict places are going to be about them.

im really sorry to hear that. thats totally lame.
