Innocence Lost.
If anyone would like to add your feelings of how you felt then and now, about your shock, feelings of secureness and any way your life has been affected by September 11th, 2001.
Keep it clean and a lot of the posts may be added to the article as the thread grows.
Oh yeah, post here on this thread.

September 11, 2001 was an emotional moment of silence for me. It affected our nation in many ways. Innocent men and women lost their lives. Family changed and some began to doubt God. It was a tragic day for everyone in America. It is something that we will never forget, but we must move on in life. I believe we are well aware and prepared for future attacks. But I can't say that we are safe from them. God Bless America.

I was truly in shock on Sept. 11th. While playing an online sci-fi spy type game, another player IM'ed me and told me to turn on the TV, that someone had flown a plane into the world trade center. I didn't beleive him, I thought he was trying to freak me out, since the game was a bit suspenseful. He finally convinced me to turn on the TV, and I was floored. My husband and I watched in disbeleif as they replayed the tape of the towers falling, over and over. I called my parents and we watched TV together, wishing we weren't six hours away. The next few days I spent in a fog, still not quite beleiving what had happened. I still get teary-eyed when I think about it. To think that someone would do such a horrible thing, and kill so many innocent people, on purpose, makes me wonder what this world is coming to. I never thought I would live to see such a thing.

This morning before going to work I was watching television and they were reading off the names of those who perished in the attack at ground zero...and I began to cry. It surprised me a bit at first that a year after the event the same amount of emotion bubbled up and caught me off guard, and yet how could anyone who saw what happened last year not continue to be saddened. I know that if my wife, or a loved one, was lost in a tragedy like that I would never get over it. The senseless waste of mankind's actions like this is truly a test of our collective minds, bodies and spirits. As a nation we certainly have the strength and resources to vanquish any foe, repair any damage and move on...but when it comes to the battlefield of the soul I pray we have the wisdom to overcome ourselves. I know that I asked my mother where she was when JFK was shot, and I know that someday my children will ask me where I was when the WTC collapsed, and I will never forget any of it.
I was just heading out to my 2nd day of classes for the 2nd to last semester of my senior year of college. I had gotton there early and the professor and a few classmates were on CNN.com looking and talking about a fire in one of the WTC buildings. As time went on the professors cell phone kept going off b/c her husband, who was working near the WTC was trying to keep us updated as to what was going on b/c the website kept getting jammed up b/c so many people were on it. She just kept telling him to get out of there and come home. Needless to say, she cancelled the rest of class. I made about 100 phone calls after that to family and friends that live in the Brooklyn,Queens, and Manhattan areas. Eveyone was scared. When I finally got home that afternoon, I was glued to the tv. Since then, I have graduated from college, and thanks to these men who wanted to ruin our lives, there are no jobs in my field. Just as there are no jobs in many fields. The economy stinks, and it's probably going to get worse. But, we are all going to stick together, and move on. Moving is exaclty what my fiance and I are going to do. Moving on to start a new professional life. Moving on to a new state, and marriage in on it's way too. If anything these men have brought us closer together. We all morn for the ones lost, but we look to the future with a new hope and a sense of a better tomorrow with an America that is prouder and stronger than ever.

i woke up and turned on the tv like normal and started to flip threw the channels and saw a tall building smoking.
for awhile i thought i was watching a movie
until the cnn logo and "Live" appeared on the screan.
everyone was saying it was a inncedent.
until another plane crashed into the 2nd tower.
Living right next to some huge oil tanks i was scared they were going to attack them.
lol
I would have NEVER thought anyone would attack us on our own land.
i will never forget it.
