Big snakes and small pets?
Beauty is such a doll..shes so friendly..what a difference btwn bci and bps..anyway I "play" w/ her alot at nite..b/c shes so cool and plus shes going to get big and I want to handle her alot...shes not afraid of anything.
she goes on the floor and my cat just sits and watches in awe...Beauty even goes up to her for some "kisses" of her nose...Bella just sniffs her back ( she wouldnt hurt a fly)
ques?..am I setting myself for a disaster when Beauty gets big?..would she go after the cat as food?...anyone let there snakes around thier small pets?..
Beauty, " im only being nice to you b/c im gonna eat u later!!"...lol

I have three cats also and there are two that I will not lock in another room when the snakes are out but they are not allowed around the snakes and the other is completely put up because she is interested and I know that she really bothers one of my more high strung snakes. I dont' think that the snakes appreciate any of them being around at all though so I minimize any kind of sight or interaction between them. Snakes don't have the ability to tell us that they don't like something and just because they dont' strike or have a negative reaction to it at first doesn't mean that they are tollerating it. I think it is a bad idea to have snakes around cats, cats around snakes and in the long run it is a disaster waiting to happen.

I second everything Heidi said, and I will add a little.
So far, the cat has been harmless, but if/when the instinct to grab a little squirmy critter by the neck kicks in, you may have a suddenly dead snake on your hands. There is no good reason (not even cuteness) to let these animals interact. The snake can never, and will never be a "friend" of the cat, nor will the cat ever be anything to the snake but either a predator, or prey.

I was sitting on the floor one day with my burm out. My Great Dane happen to walk by and WACK the burm hit him right on the nose. A lady brought her BCI back to our shop after having it for 4 years becuase she went to the kitchen to refill her drink and her snake that was just hanging out killed her cat. Ask yourself is it really worth the risk? What chances are you willing to take in order to see something cute? I would keep all of them apart.
