substrate ache
Awh man, wouldnt you know it. I finally broke down and started feeding my RTB in here cage, the first feeding went well. but the second feeding a few days ago went south. I place a sheet of newspaper on top of her substrate and placed the f/t rat on it. Wouldnt you know it she pulled it completely off the paper and proceded to eat. That all went good until I looked back about 30 min later and she was trying to adjust her jaw. I thought nothing of it and then another 10 min later I looked again and she still was adjusting her jaw.
Now I get closer and take a look whats going on, in the process of eating she pulled in a piece of coco bark along the side of her mouth and wouldnt you know it, the last set of teeth stuck into it like a cork screw... Now for the fun stuff. first I try with hook to take it off with no luck next i try holding part of her and the hook still no luck. What I ended up having to do to an already upset 8-1/2' boa is dawn a pair of rubber glove (hide heat some) and grab her head and pry it off her tooth.. At least she did not strike at me, although a few times thought she was going to.
hmmm, now I have to re think if I am going to feed in cage or not next time.
ok, thats enough of that. just thought you would get a laugh
