Vermiculite Help.....
Where in the world can I pick up vermiculite? is it something I can pick up at home depot or something like that? or do I have to order it off of the net? any info would help out tons!

i got mine form lowe's, they have it where the perlite is. it was kinda hard to find, theyr'e in little bags on the shelves

The vermiculite you get at large home stores isnt a good incubation grade vermiculite.
Its way to fine and I dont think it allows for proper gas exchange.
Extra course is best you can get it many places, usually the more specialized garden shops.
if they dont have it, they can probably get it for you.
Or search the internerd http://www.rogergeorge.com/expendables/items/edvrmc/
If your using it for moisture retention in plants, then the small fine grade works just fine.

Look at the thread about where people get their supplies from. If I am not mistaken, mgreptiles sells it and a few others do too. Go through the sites that were mentioned and see.

I'd be careful about where it comes from. See the link below. (Do a quich Google search for lots more) There's a lot of info available about possible, very serious health risks from some vermiculite. At one time, something like 90% of the world's vermiculite came from a mine that was contaminated with asbestos. People have died from lung cancer after being exposed to it.

man I feel so dumb..I have seen picks and was like where have I seen that stuff before...just got thinking and we use it at work to soak up oil in our shop..lol
