It's official. My sanity is gone.
I've been working the last couple of days on setting up a darkroom. I love the convenience of digital and all but I miss the smell and I have a feeling that film will make a comeback...anyway, I had two windows and a door to light proof. When I was done, I stood in the dark for 5 minutes to let my eyes adjust and dang it...I see a glow on the back far wall. I stood in the dark for 30 minutes trying to find the light leak. It was driving me nuts trying to figure out where that little sliver of light was coming from...Then I finally turned on the light to see that the glow I was seeing was coming from a glow-in-the-dark fishing pole tip leaning against the water heater. I'm not exagerating either lol...I sweated that "light leak" for every bit of 30 minutes.

I was just thinking of where I could possibly set up a dark room in my house..
Other than my closet, nowhere, and I don't think that is enough room.
I miss working in the darkroom too
Glad you found your "light source" Brett!

Glad to know that I’m not the only one who misses the smell of the darkroom. I haven’t been in the darkroom since April, and well I have another month or so before I can be around the chemicals again. And then I will have to fight Toker to let me bring them in the house with the baby.

YES! ugly stick it was lol

Why did you wait 30 minutes to turn the light back on? Were you paralysed with fear?
|
because I was sure the light was coming in from outside the room. If that's the case, turning on the light makes it impossible to see where the light is coming from. It also means your eyes have to readjust again once the light goes back off to resume the search...so I fumbled around in there checking around the windows and door looking for ....what obviously wasn't there lol. I finally just gave up and decided to take up the search later when I wasn't so tired...flipped on the light...and boy did I feel dumb....plumb dumb.

The bells ring! I win! What do I get ?? Haha, I remember getting my first ugly stick, couldn't have been too long out of the egg, and laying in bed in absolute terror, wondering what that ghostly light in the corner of my room was...Nobody told me they glowed! In all seriousness though, the first time you take one of those buggers night fishing, that feature becomes quite useful. Unbreakable too! Killer rods for a relatively inexpensive price. OK, fishing rod hijacking is officially done! Dark rooms are dark!
