Need computer help!!

When I log onto the internet it has recently started taking forever to bring the comcast page up.... It says detecting security proxies at the bottom and takes a good minute ot two before it will open... It only just started doing this a few days ago... Any Ideas?... I'm a computer idiot BTW!!!!

Check see if you have any firewalls that could be blocking it (zone alarm/norton/windows firewall)

go to tools, internet options, connection settings, and make sure it's automatically detect.

If you're using a router, check see if there's a router firewall that could be blocking it.

Delete the cookies folder contents and try to log on again. This will usually do the trick.....

The firewall would either block or allow. However, it won't make things run slow.

You need to check your PC for malware. Go to http://www.trojanscan.com and run their scanner on your PC. Let us know the results and we'll go from there.
