Totally irelevant question i know, but...
I would like to know the tasteeeee way to cook a chop. It needs to produce a tender/soft meat without adding a suace of any kind AFTER it's served. I've read up on a few sites though they have complex recipes and al i want is to just eat the stuff. I'm sure there is a cook among us here somewhere.
Any suggestion will be considered.

for tender but flavorful, your best bet is to smoke it...I've never tried smoking chops though, just the rack.
How you gonna eat lamb without mint jelly though?

Put a little oil into a frying pan (skillet?) and away you go! Just drop those puppies in there with a hint of pepper on them. Whilst they are cooking you might want to crisp up the fat with a blowtorch (I jest you not). They can be cooked to however you like them, rare, well done, whatever.
We love them like that in the UK!

*pout* I admit that lambs are tasty, but I only had lamb chops once... and that was at Outback. Of course I couldn't eat much because my entire family was BAAAAAAing at me (because I love the animal) and I felt so bad!
I had it in a special mince sauce, though... cooked medium-rare. Delish, but I won't say that again!

Mint Jelly? Why ruin the wonderful Flavor of Meat with jelly? Thats like putting A1 on a Fillet. If you need to top it with something You Aint cooking it right. Just season it lightly if you even need to do that. And of course Medium rare if not rare. Spoken like a true Carnavore.

Thanks for the thoughts. I agree with Ed r here people. Sorry.. What the flop is mint sauce anyway?? It's not important i suppose. I guess the skillet thing will be the way to go for me.
Ya know... the people i used to live with back in Australia used to cook some mean chops but i never took any notice of how they did that.
I only remember they use water in the skillet. I could kick myself now!
In return to shaks post.. You won't have those cute feelings towards sheep if you lived with a herd in the backyard. They eventually all look like chops on legs scooting around trying to not get caught.
The baa-ing noise you hear is them saying in translation... Ya can't catch me... ner ner.
I say put a stop to this ignorance!
Enjoy

Mint Jelly is exactly what it sounds like...mint flavored Jelly. And it aint quite like putting A1 on filet...it aint like you're making a PBJ sandwich and spreading it on all thick. It just takes a little dip of it..really accents the flavor of the meat, rather than drowning it. Meat and Jelly (or fruit in general) is a great combination. Ever try grape jelly on a sausage biscuit? Pinapple and ham? Duck L'orange?
