I would try through a search engine such as yahoo or google. Try different word combinations to bring up more info.

i've murdered the search engines and can't find anything.. Anytime you type snake or anything relating to reptile all you will get is breeders, pictures and information sites..

Ok. Sometimes ya just have to think like a 'green vegetable'. Type anything you think isn't directly related but is scratching the subject. Try: basics of snake herping, how to herp for snakes, herping cold blooded animals, reptile herpetology, discovering herps/herpetology, how to catch native snakes/reptiles... whatever. The possibilities are endless.

I have never found any information online on field herping. It is a matter of knowing where to go in your area, when to go for particular species, and where to look. I have a feeling it varies through out the country. The best way to learn is to find someone experienced to learn from. But be careful, herpers are very protective of the prime herping spots.
