great questions, im curious to see everyone elses experiences.
when I was 8-9 I caught garter snakes, salamanders, frogs and painted turtles living in MN, I kept a garter snake as a pet for a few years, then let it go where I found it (yeah, not a good idea, but I was 9 years old) when I was 10 I was given a fox snake.
It was all down hill from there
now I only have 30 snakes which is the lowest number of herps i've had in 12 years.

at one point had 3 rooms and every closet filled
then as I added wife/kids, I went down from 3 rooms to 2, from 2 to 1, from 1 to a corner of a office area.
but consequently, im more content and dedicated to what I do have , more now than ever before.
i've had several of my animals for 10+ years and plan on sharing my space with them until they leave this world...
k, i'll turn hippie mode off for a bit.

I was probably around 11-12 when we moved to an area that wasn't totally developed with miles of forested land ( sort of) I guess my first snake was an Everglades Rat, then corns, scarlet kings and local kings. I moved into venomous at 17 and that's what I kept until 24, when I got out of herps. That was early '80's. I got back into snakes when someone gave me a ball python they could no longer care for, that was like '91. Then in '98 I got into emeralds exclusively, but kept the ball until last year. She (I didn't know at the time) went to an old friend.

Caught a few at 14-16 but never "owned" a snake till I was 18... This was a burm given to me... Not a great first snake. but I have had him for close to 3 1/2 years now and hes doing great. I now have 10. My sig is not up to date BTW.

I'm new here. Can anyone help me? I'm looking for an idea of what my animals may be worth. I have acquired most of them as rescues, and I use them for educational programs. I'm just curious as to what they may be worth.
I have:
14' Albino Burmese Python (male)
11' Albino Green Burmese Python (female)
3' Argus Monitor (male)
3' B&W Argentine Tegu
3' Nile Monitor
Any help is appreciated. I have other reptiles too, but I just wanted to start with a few. Thanks so much!

You might want to start a new thread.
but the burm's sad to say are almost worthless. There are people out there that will pay for them but your risking putting them into hands that just want a big snake and cant take care of them . Anyone that has been in the herp community long, that would take good care of them, wont take in big burms.. too many of them out there that need good homes, and breeders selling them like candy to any kid who wants one.
I have 2 currently and take up a great deal of time, you must know that though.
I hope you can find a good home for them all. check out kingsnake.com to compare other prices.

I'm not necessarily looking to get rid of them. I was just looking for a general idea of what they may be worth because my husband and I are going through a divorce and it's not pretty. I found someone who has a reputable history of taking care of large snakes and was curious as to what I could possibly get for them since they're albinos. I'm not sure yet if we will be finding new homes for them or not. We are both members of a local herp club too.
Thanks for your input though. I appreciate it.

AWSOME!
I figured that with 2 snakes that size I was pretty sure you must have know what you are doing.. a few things threw me off so that's why I posted that.
But prices are going to vary... albino burm that size went for 150$ at a shop here in FL and have seen them close to 500$. depends really where your located at, laws and herp community around you. The green will go for more but unsure of exactly what price.
the others the best bet is to go on kingsnake.com and look around

I will definitely try kingsnake.com thanks! Yeah, I've had reptiles as pets my whole life. Our collection at it's largest was 12 snakes and 14 lizards. It's down to 8 of each now. We decided about a year ago to downsize, and focus on specific species for the educational programs we were doing to debunk common misconceptions about our favorite animals on the planet. We decided on large pythons and monitors, hence why we took on the large burms. Unfortunetly now, we are splitting up and without my help, I fear that these animals are not getting the care they deserve.
