Post your favorite Steve Irwin Moment
In remembrance of Steve Irwin, post your favorite episode, or moments from his shows or appearances. Tell a little bit about why you enjoyed that show or him in general.
My favorite is available on animal planet’s site. It’s Steve with a wild juvie retic that he pulls out from under a raised hut. The retic takes to gnawing on Steve’s arm and he’s trying to comfort her while she’s chewing away and he’s bleeding.
1st, I liked that one because the snake was beautiful and the clip was funny. What I really appreciated was his recognition that he was intruding on the snake (even though he was moving her for her own safety) and didn’t get upset when a wild animal did what came natural. I thought it was a good teaching moment for people who interact with nature. You’re the outsider. The snake is just trying to live here.

Mine was when he pulled the Retic male out of the zoo's cage after it bit the female. It showed me that these monster snakes need many people to properly handle them and aren't for many people to own.

The injuries to the other retic in that clip are truly astonishing. I was amazed that the keepers would climb in there considering the severe damage those large retics are capable of inflicting, but that's what they do.

my favorite episode is when he was chasing a snake (i don't rember what kind it was) and he says "if it were to bite me, i'd be sure to die ... lets sollow it!!!" and he proceds to captirse the snake and show that even tho is's deadly, it wan't comming after him, he was going after it and all that it wanted to do is get outta his way

my fav moment was incidently NOT a reptile moment. he and terri were driving along at night, and a kangaroo was stuck in the fence and he got it loose. his caring and tenderness in that action are what made my PARENTS like to watch him. i had already been a fan from day one.
