Okay everybody, wish me luck........
I am getting ready to attempt to build a rheostat all by myself! YIKES!!!! I found the plans on cornsnakes.com. The pics look pretty self explanatory but we shall see...............
I am the least handy person I know AND I am petrified of electricity!

Ummmm...........
Refused...................
That looks nothing like what I am attempting. A good comparison would be me building a little tower out of blocks while you are building the sears tower! This thing is so simple. And it looks just like the pics on the link(so far) There is 2 different guides on that link. I am doing the first one (mainly because it looked easier) and the second one will have to wait for my old man to do it because I am scared. That 2nd one has a plug and they mention making the dimmer control only one of the outlets on the plug thingy and they put it in a 2 gang box thingy. And I really don't wanna screw it up!
But whatever you are building looks pretty cool to me!!!

HA... I really enjoy electronics.. I have 2 DMM's (Digital multi meters) one you can see in the pic off to the left. Do you have the direct link? I cant seem to find it but it may just me being lazy...
O and in the pic is a power supply for a computer. Besides changing the fan and a few other things I was wrapping all the cables in a nylon shield, it will help reduce the mass of the cables and provide better air flow to cool of comp.

Done in an hour and 10 min or so, minus the time on the comp. Glad it works! don't burn you place down LOL. I think I'm going to make one somewhat close to that but want to make it a little fancier. I will probably test it out on one of my empty cages i have sitting around. Ill take a few pics if I get to it, since deadliest did take any for us LOL
