To whom it may concern,
My name is Peter x and i am an avid snake keeper.
i only have 2 but i research and provide the best
possible life for them. i plan to enroll in a PhD
program in ecology and work with them in the near
future.
So when i entered the reptile section, of "The Pet
Shoppe" Haddonfield RD Cherry Hill NJ 08002, i was
very disturbed. they had 4 snakes in cruel conditions.
1) a Ball python; had large portions of substrate
missing, had low humidity, retained shed of skin, no
hide spot to relieve stress, and two weeks worth of
fecal matter. ( generally snakes go once a week and
there were two piles)
2) second ball python; no hide, 2 weeks of fecal, low
humidity
3) Adult Boa constrictor; slightly undersized cage, 2
weeks worth of fecal matter really covering the cage,
no hide, low humidity, just general filth.
4) 8 year old adult rat snake, fecal material, it was
laying mouth gaping in its water dish, lifeless. this
indicates many potential illnesses first on the list
likely some infection of the mouth ( mouth rot
possibly) if it was even still alive.
The visit was between 7-7:30 PM on Weds July 13th
2006. i am available to testify to any of these
issues. contact via phone xxx-xxx-xxx
i was pretty disgusted and left after grabbing a
business card. its likely other areas of the store are
in such condition also.

We will see if anything is done. if they say "no evidence" ill just go in and take some pictures or record statements.
I wanted to puke when i saw the snakes but i had no thoughts of "rescue". unless that meant stealing them and punching the reptile dude in the face.
