fauna BOI, gone to crap?

recently... the BOI has been opened to everyone. a week before this happened, i finally buckled and bought a membership. before i even made one post on it, it was turned public, and in my mind, the memebership i had just paid for was totally worthless.

now... even reading the BOI... is like.. annoying, no one adhears to the rules, let alone POSTS THEIR FULL NAME. i dont even know how many places "post your full name" is written, and not only do people totally disregard it [its not even in signatures] but no one is doing anything about it. if i remember correctly, if someone started a thread, and didnt use their full name, the thread was deleted.

not only has this thread not been locked or deleted, but there are almost 50 pages of replys, it wasnt worth it to me to read through all of them to see if ANYONE commented on the fact that no one was using their full names, because most of them didnt.

when people start refering to someone elses USERNAME in a BOI? the BOI kindof looses all respectability in my mind.

Good grief..Just cause she didnt get the snakes for that price, and it was a misunderstanding..
To me the BOI was created in order to be a source of good/bad info on prospective buyers/sellers, unfortunately it has turned into a good place to bash someone unnecessarily. I guess the overall idea is what is important though.

well i mean, before, it was where respectable people would talk about people they had good or bad dealings with. if they had good dealings, they would say so. not where people would make up names and talk about themself, or had their friends say good things about them.
and if someone had something BAD to say about someone, it was after alot of communication, corrispondance, and an oppertunity and time to rectify an actual problem. they would come with emails and pictures and FACTS. not just "so and so blah blah blah" and then everyone jumping on some drama-filled bashing bandwagon, where no one is accountable for their actions.

the whole point about posting your whole name, is because you wouldnt get caught saying anything you wouldnt say in person. and now its like an AOL chat room full of preteens.

I used to read the BOI, found it funny. Then it was just sad, loads of dribble and pretty much worthless, THEN you had to pay to post, oy vey, that was the nail in the coffin for me.

Never went back, dont plan to.

It's always been a waste of time and space...a good idea but poorly run, operated, staffed and heavy on trolls. Rich's greed is a constant hinderance and keeps anyone worth their salt away. What you basically have are a few mouths that want to feel like an all powerful judge and jury pounding away on people about things they have no first hand knowlege of and can't possibly have an opinion over.
