We survived!! **Dial Up warning**
Ok, well Ive been chomping at the bit to post about the Memorial Day weekend and having CruiserMaiden (Mary) Will, and Redtail1 (Johnathan) stay with us..
Yes, Mary still has all of her hair, but I'd be willing to bet she'll never be the same!! LOL *ZZiip*
Johnathan pulled in around 1:30-2p Friday. After a trip to WalMart to stock up on junk food, we chowed on some pizza, and LOAO at the Dave Chapelle Show.."YAYAH, OOKAAY" and Chris Rock's "Never Scared". After a 13hr drive, getting him to sit down, was not an easy task. After we tied him up, he was fine.. LOL
Mary & Will had left Atlanta right after work bound for Snakeless Arkansas.
After driving most of the night, they called and had decided to crash at some backwoods, creepy truck stop for a few hours and set the phone alarm for 5:30A (and they freak out over ToadSuck Park! )
Saturday AM we met them in Fayetteville at PetCrap..I mean, PetCo. Who, for the first time, EVER actually had clean cages (and thats all I have to say about that) We were all ready to kick off the festivities, so we did the only thing that made sense, we went to the cell phone store so I could get my phone fixed. I was in a hurry, because we were all hungry. Naturally, I drew #102, while the sign says "Now Serving #51". Being the ever so patient person, I said "FORGET IT".
We made yet ANOTHER trip to WalMart to pick up some necessities..One thing about Georgians, they like to shop, and forget half their stuff..LOL
When we got home, Ryan fired up the grill (I think I'll be seeing a bill from the Rogers Fire Dept for that, anyday now..) and we wolfed down an early dinner.
Johnathan had mentioned wanting to check out prices and designs on a tat cover up, so I took him to my fave shop. We tried to get Ryan to go, but he chose to hang out at the house with Mary & Will. As soon as we walked out Ryan told Mary & Will "She better not come back with any more tatoos" Oops!! hehe! I'll let Mary post pics of that later..LOL
Johnathan found a nice coverup, and I actually think I may try to sketch it out for him.
Later Sat evening:
Spirits were high for Mary's first ever herping excursion.. Ryan had received a tip the "elusive" Copperheads were covering the dirt roads around 8pm in Sulpher Springs. We crammed into the Blazer (all 6 of us) and tore out to find something reptilian. This is how comfortable it was: Everyone wanted to walk in the 90degree heat uphill..So, I settled for babysitting and A/C and riding alongside, providing moral support.
We encountered some locals, who tipped us off to a "field w/ 4wheeler tracks, but theres an 8ft Rattler in one of the 6 or 7 caves back up in there"
Of course, its dark, we had no flashlights...so we headed that way!
I think the collective conclusion on the area was something on the lines of a "Deliverance" scene, so we called it a night.
Sunday we got around EARLY, thanks to Will's phone alarm.. The same one we threatened to launch into the bedroom like a grenade should it go off again Sunday AM at 5:30! I cooked breakfast.. and we all headed to Joplin & the Reptile World Zoo. In SEPARATE vehicles..(no, thats not because of my cooking..The blazer is cramped with 3 adults in the back seat..)
I think everyone enjoyed Joplin, the owner is such a nice man, and so willing to visit..it's hard NOT to like it. From Joplin, we headed (or tried to) out to Roaring River in Cassville, Missouri. Somehow I managed to pass a turn I didnt even need to take..but we'll leave that alone..I think that was off of Hwy M or MM, I cant recall..LOL
At Roaring River things got considerably more entertaining. First of all, the river is a spring fed trout farm. The water is ICE COLD, and the rocks are slippery! Brett..I LOVE my Boob hook!! Would it be voiding a warranty if I say it worked well as a cane? Unfortunately that was about the only action it saw from me
We saw about 3 water snakes, and Johnathan came close enough to almost hook one in the water. There were also billions of crawfish and tadpoles swimming about..
Brett, Im not so sure you want your business associated with someone who
is willing to do this:

The REAL photo op was missed, and that was the expression on Johnathan's face LMAO!
The REAL reason we didnt see many snakes

Ryan & Johnathan at Roaring River

I kept hearing "Crikey" right here...and I cant figure out why..

The director:

After Roaring River, we came home, changed clothes, headed to Springdale to pick up my daughter, ate at Cracker Barrel, and do some road cruising in the country..Dinner was entertaining, thanks in part to a whiny kid..So Ryan took over and I relieved him **Zzip** at halftime so he could finish eating.
Road cruising was a blast,**Zzip** and the night was wonderful. Unfortunately all we saw were two frogs and one rabid Armadillo. The unanimous decision has been made, "THERE ARE NO SNAKES IN ARKANSAS"
There, I said it..We got home around midnight, so deliriously tired everything was hilarious. Ryan had us in stitches all the way home.
I would like to take this moment and say "Thanks to the Arkansas DOT for providing those nice ridges in the pavement for which many a drunk and tired night I utilized to keep me on the road." Will discovered the same benefits on the drive home.
Keep in mind these last pics are of the AFTER, and I didnt sleep well with "them" in my house We really hated to see them go, we had a real blast! **Zzip**
Mary, Will, Johnathan, Me & Ryan..

Its 10:30P here, so Im sure everyone is just rolling in off the road.
I hope you guys enjoy the pics, there's a lot more to follow, most of which arent suitable for the ratings on this site

sweet! glad it was fun for you! I went canoeing down near arkansas and saw like 5 snakes and about 100 (literally) turtles... Here is a question, do you think the huge burm (baby I believe is its name) is slightly overfed. He says it eats 90lbs a month, and that is at LEAST every week. Just wondering...

ARRGGH!!! You mentioned the BURM and I didnt take pics of IT! Louise is gonna kill me!
Dont worry Louise, Mary got pics, Im sure of it!!
Yeah "Baby" is a porky one, none of his animals are in danger of starving to death in the next 3 years or so..LOL
I have talked to him a little about that. IMO, it should be in larger less frequent meals. He only said he feeds 4 rabbits a week, but shes so beefy..lol
He could just feed a pig a month or 2 weeks. He had a pig guy, but he would have had to kill and freeze the pigs himself, and he said "I saw their little faces, and I just couldnt do it"
I should get Jason's F/T pig info and see if he can order from there..LOL
Shes a BIG snake lol. Shes 15-16ft and 200+#
Heres just a few quick pics I snapped.
Did he play with the gator for you? He was scratching her head!
He also opened up the Gabby cage for us..He knows how bad I want one, so he just tortures me EVERY time! lol
My other fave is Agnes, the Black Forest Cobra..Shes just amazing.
The beardies are NOT mating..lol

Blue Tongue Skinks

Very Black Phased Beardie

My fave...Bitis gabonica aka Gaboon Viper

And Agnes ...Naja Melanoleuca aka Black Forest Cobra (has she struck the glass at you yet?)

yeah, his snakes all tend to be... plus-sized... He opened one of the rattlesnake cages when I was there last and got it all riled up. Yeah, he told me the pig story to, I just think he should go ahead and buy them anyways. His gator is such a big baby, he plays with it all the time. Did he let ya'll handle any of the snakes? He will sometimes let me handle them...
I always forget to go get pictures when I go there. I am taking some little kids there this week so if there is anything you didn't get pics of just tell me, I will get some for you!

yea he opened up the cage of the albino cobra and riled her up cause he overheard will saying it was a shame he couldnt see her - we got some great pics of her though i think i'd rather he left her alone (please pardon my spelling/grammar/whatever this evening, we just got home...) I dont think we are in danger of not having pictures of anything there - I believe I took a picture of darn near every animal there (ok, except the spiders... and I only took one of the ball pythons even though there were many there...) but my pictures will be loaded over the next several days. I think the only snake they got out was one of the sand boas. Yes, I got pics of the burm, very very VERY porky burm. Ok I'm gonna go pass out now - I will post my side of this story tomorrow...

Hope you left a little gas in Jonathan. I gotta drag him for another 7 hour drive friday to Tunica Mississippi. Yeah I got hooked into going to that show. The promoters called and gave me a last minute incentive.

I think it was 1ish or so - didnt get the car searched out (we lost a cell phone, somewhere) and Mystry all settled and laundry washed for work until after 3. I overslept and was 45 min late for work today, oh well.
