Klutz!
For those of you wondering what happened to me last night when I suddenly said I had to go to the ER....
Well..here's the scoop!
My 8yr old daughter, Mary & the 10yr old boy, Devin from next door were horseplaying in the front yard. They were boxing, and from a proud mom, my kid was walloping him!
Anyways, I went outside and scolded the kids. "One of you is going to get hurt, you need to stop before we have to spend all night in the ER!!"
My husband, with his maturity of a 12yr old, was egging them on, so being MY MATURE self, I walloped him a few times playfully. He tried to perform a left sweep on me, and didnt realize I had planted my right foot solid on the ground, and had ALL my weight on it.
YEP! SNAP! CRACKLE! POP! I sprained it really well, so I got to spend the next 3 hours in the ER. I got a nice little boot and a air cast and a set of extremely awkward crutches. Im on them for the next 2 weeks, then I can start to try to put weight on my foot a little at a time. If after a month of the crutches I still cant put all my weight on my foot, I have to see the orthapedist....NICE.
But, NEVER FEAR!! Im still ready to go herping Memorial Day & go to the Joplin Reptile Zoo! Today I went gimping about at Roaring River, Missouri. Im slow, but hey, what else is new?
I really despise IRONY!

When I sprained my ankle a few years ago and had to have crutches, it was such a pain in the butt going all round school with those things, I only went to school with them for two days, then I walked on it the rest of the time I was like HECK with that! Especially with all my friends calling me "gimpy" LOL

Yea to cap up Courtney' and I's weekend - I was in the ER friday night. Came home from Lowes (was buying tileboard and other stuff to make cages this weekend) and started seeing spots. Went to bed and woke up an hour later thinking I was having a stroke or dying or something from the pain in my head. Spent all night in the ER only to come home and sleep all day yesterday. Still dont feel good either and didnt get my cages done! So since I'm schedualed at Courtney's house next weekend, I've nicknamed us Gimpy and Wimpy and we will certainly make a dynamic duo at the reptile zoo lol....
Oh and is THAT why you were painting your toenails earlier? wanted to look good for the pictures... lol

Have you had migraines before? I suffer from migraines and occasionally they get so painful that I nearly pass out. My vision gets affected and the pressure in the head seems un-bearable.
Lately I have had episodes of extreme dizzyness, feelings of everything spinning around me. After those episodes I have several "blindspots" in my vision and they flimmer. That lasts about 40 mins. I've been to the ER after one of those scary episodes, and it might be Vertigo. Of course I got a migraine after that attack as well, and the pain got so bad while I was in the ER that I couldn't stand up for the x-rays they wanted to take, I was so nauseous.
ER is fun, huh...

Yeah Mary (aka CruiserMaiden) & I were just discussing ERs. I was telling her how they gave me 2 Vicodin and then fitted my air cast and handed me crutches..
I said to my hubby, Ryan.. "Yeah the staff is watching me on candid camera just waiting to see me bust it here in the parking lot.."
Oh yeah sure lets give the KLUTZ some dope, and then make her use some awkward crutches..LOL

scarlett - I've never had migraines before but I have a family history of them. We're hoping thats all it is,cause the doctor said it could be meningitis. We passed on the spinal tap but I'm going for a followup with my general physician tomorrow, and we have a feeling he may send me in for one anyhow (joy). At least they drugged me and left me in the bed. I'm still laughing about the mental image of Courtney on vicoden with crutches... teehee
