Okay kiddies lighten up

We all know that in order for a site to grow there must be an influx of new people, this actually holds true in all areas of life. If not things become static and boring. Now saying this I know we've had a few butt munches of late who just try to stir things up, but we can't let them colour the way we approach newbs on the site.

There will always be a newbie who comes here with their preconceived thoughts about how they deal with things, such as live feeding etc. Accept them, show them the threads about the dangers/pros/cons what have you and go on. No need to get hissy and frustrated just because they don't initially see things your way (but if you do there is the headbanging thread link in my sig)

There will always be people wanting the large ones, they are gorgeous snakes who won't want them. I myself toss the idea around but generally common sense prevails. I mean look at Louise, she's dying for a burm but she knows that that just won't work out at her size and even though she drools up a mini flood in Minnesota every time she sees one, we know that she won't go out and get one. We are all aware of the stories of burms, retics and afrocks being let go in the wild when their owners can no longer handle them. We all know the stories of the teens who get them and at the first sign of aggression want to give them away, but please remember there are also responsible people out there who are fully capable of taking care of them inspite of age, sex etc.

Honestly I could see why some of the newbs would take the offensive when faced with a barrage of questions from strangers who are doing their best to talk them out of getting something that they really want so bad they could taste it.

We all have our own point of view on things but the best way to convert someone is gently and if they can't be converted still give them the advice to the best of your ability and in the event that something does go wrong don't sweat it. The best way to learn afterall is by experience, its no fun otherwise. So come here, have fun, chat and fun at your friends, make new friends and don't give everyone up or try to chase those that don't have the same point of view as you do. We're not sheep and it really is not cool to run with the crowd, cause sometimes folks that crowd is heading towards a cliff.

But it is hard to know what the experience level is with newbies. Especially when so MANY ppl claim to have done their research and yet dont know how big their snake will get LOL
