Pet Shops...
So, I headed over to the pet shop today, and immediately went towards the herps. I get back there and I see a 20 gallon tank with some type of snake in it and head over there. I get over there and I see that there are three snakes in there, a boa, a burm, and a retic. After talking to them and telling them that they would be best in their own cages I was told: "It is good to house snakes together, they don't get lonely that way." AHHHH, no wonder people get snakes that have problems... Sorry, may seem stupid to you, but I needed to vent.

And they had two water bowls, and nothing for them to hide under... If only I had the money for those snakes...

The pythons were $150, and the boa was $140... feeding those things would get dang pricey...

ahh... so I went back to that same shop today and the retic has been moved out of the cage and is in it's own now. However, the RTB, and the burm have some new housemates. They now share their cage with 3 ball pythons and a blood python. They just didn't listen when I told them they shouldn't do that...

Thats rediculous. If only I was a bit closer!!! I would snatch up all those snakes and take them home for free!!! Thats something worth risking getting arrested for IMO. Some pet shops(almost all) care more about money than the care of their animals

I would also blame the breeders they are getting them from. It doesn't take a genius to know that we already have way too many uncared for snakes on the market. If people would stop breeding all the time, just for fun, then we probably wouldn't have that problem.

Yeah, I thought about it, there was crap all over the cage and it was so dirty. They didn't give them a hide or anything so they are probably really stressed, it wouldnt help that they don't have ANY way of measuring temp and humidity, and one small undertank heater.

Nothing to hide under? Sure they did, they had each other to hide under, thats why they're housed together...so they don't get lonely and so they have somewhere to hide.
