I feel like a prisoner!!!

I'm not sure how many of you have heard on the news about all the rain New England is getting. I live in southern New Hampshire and half our town is under water. A lot of the main roads and back roads have been closed. They had to close the schools due to the fact that half of them are under water(well at least the parking lots). I'm not even sure if my kids will have school tomorrow or the next day because they are talking about another storm comming in tonight even though this one is still going. They just said on the news that this is the worst flooding in this area in 30 years.

I guess I should have said that even though we live near a lake, we are set up on a hill. We have no worries about our house at all. It's just awful trying to get anywhere.

I could only imagine, we have flooding here during the rainy season, its tough getting anywhere at all, even if its only a few inches of water in the road. There have been occassions of roads and bridges being washed away and people cut off from the rest of the island, but still nothing to compare to the type of flooding that I see in the states and elsewhere in the world.

The town has been putting off fixing the dam on my lake. Now it's a big issue because they are afraid it won't be able to hold the water and will let go. Luckily for us we are up stream. But it will cause a huge problem for the people on the other side. I can't even imagine the problems that will cause.

it has been raining here for 3 days but it never floods.

I think it's been over 2 weeks now that it has been raining.We had one or two days of gloom but no rain, but the rest of them it was all rain. The last few days have been downpours.
