Kobe Bryant with Snake (PICS - ID Please)
Ok so seeing as how I'm a huge fan of Kobe Bryant, Snakes, and Slam magazine you'll know that I am a huge fan of the fact that the latest issue of slam magazine has Kobe on the front holding a snake with the title "Cold Blooded"
I was reading an article on ESPN.com about Kobe for MVP and they mentioned the pics of him with a "Black Mamba"
At that point I stopped reading to see if he really was on the cover and what snake he was holding, since it was obviously not a Black Mamba. Over at Slamonline.com they refer to it as a Kingsnake, but my first thoughts upon seeing it was that it was a Black Rat Snake. I'm no expert on ID'ing either so I thought I'd put it up here for questioning. Here are some pics...

Yeah, I never said that I actually thought it was a mamba. I went searching to the pics to see what it actually was, knowing he wouldn't be holding a black mamba. My post said "At that point I stopped reading to see if he really was on the cover and what snake he was holding, since it was obviously not a Black Mamba."
But thanks for the rat snake vote...if that is what the majority agrees it is, then it's pretty pathetic that the writers at Slam would say it's a Kingsnake, since they probably had to ask what it was. Apparently the snakes owner/handler wasn't nearby and they didn't care to clarify? Lame, if thats the case.
