Permit
Hello everyone! I was just inquiring if in the state of Illinois, one needs a permit for keeping boa constrictors. I don't expect anyone to know about Illinois specifically, but it would help a lot. Thanks

I used to live in chicago, and i know that you can pick up a red tail at most pet places without any kind of paperwork, so i don't believe you NEED a permit. wether or not they require one, i don't know.

There isn't a state wide ban so it is up to the city to make a ban or not. For example, we have a ban here in Omaha that says no snake the has the potential to get over 8' and bot lizard with the potential to get over 5'. You go 2 miles out of city limits and you can get a retic. The safest thing to do is check local laws and regulations. We are allowed BCI here but BCC....Don't even think about it
