RTB people, I have a ball python male, and I'd like to get a female soon. Can ball's
live together in say, a 55 gallon tank? Let me know if anyone has any details,
and I'm sure all of you do. Thanks for the past help, and the future help.

It's always best to have a quarentine period of at the bare minimum of 30 days, and most prefer to have them quarentined forever, just in case except for breeding purposes.

Bps are typically solitary creatures, even in the wild, the biggest reason for the quarentine is to prevent the spread of disease and parasites that can be introduced with a new animal, or even an established animal to the new one.
Stress is also a factor involved, especially with bps as they have a tendency to stress very easily which leads to problems like not feeding, lowered immuno system capability due to the added stress etc..

Take Eddie's advice. Quarentine the female before keeping her with the male. I've seen royals they seem to enjoy being together while others get very stressed out at times.

FYI My wonderful pair (yes im being sarcastic) lived together without confrontation. But now they are both right at 2 yrs old and coming close to sexual maturity. I always seperate them to feed. This spring my Male stopped eating for 5 months. Tried everything and no avail. A friend told me to seperate them cuz all the male is thinking of is mating. So i seperated them all together and later that month he started eating again. So I really wouldnt recomend it.
