What should my next reptile be?
this will be in the future in about a year i will be ready to accomadate another reptile right now i have an iguana and a boa. Im just thinking of what i may want now so i can plan ahead. I like lizards and am thinking of a monitor of some sort. I want one that can be tamed down like an iguana but i also want one of the larger monitors. Any advice on good monitors or lizards that make good pets?

I have NO idea about the monitors..I just got a little Water dragon I really like..They get about 2-3ft in length, so not as big as the Iguana...but still manageable.
As far as temperment, hes still just a baby..he will tolerate holding for a short time, and then when he wants down, he wants down NOW!
He will start getting spastic, so I keep him held inside his cage to get him used to it, that way I dont have to worry if he squirts out from my grip and falls!
Juvies are big on the crix and other insects...dragons techinically need a wide variety of foods though..
Here's a site I found to be pretty informative: http://www.triciaswaterdragon.com/dragoncr.htm

Tegu?
I like the tegus for a relatively large lizard that can be tamed down. They have some really neat habits, and are pretty easy to care for. We have a pair from Ron St. Pierre and they are great animals.
Just My 2 cents

The reptile store I go to has a few of the croc monitors, and they are nasty. I seen him go in to the cage one day to fix something, and one of them jumped on him and put huge slices down his back. It took three of them to get it back in. When you walk by them they hiss at you.
