Ok, so I wanted to list 4 of my snakes for adoption...I pulled the 2 Redtails untill I can determine whether I feel they are healthy enough to go to someone new.
I did list my 2 Ball Pythons, Huggy & Copper.
I have had 2 calls today, and the ad just ran this AM.
The first caller seemed to be a nice guy and knowledgable enough about snakes, I think he could provide a nice home for the Ball he is interested in.
The second caller just flipped my lid!
Our conversation went something like this:
Me: Hello?
2nd: YEEEEEAAAH, I, uh, I, uh, was... uh, callin uh, about uh,... the snakes in the paper?
Me: Yes?
2nd: How big do them git?
Me: Well, the larger of the two females is sitting at 4ft 5inches. The smaller is about 26"
2nd: How big's that in feet?
*Right now I am thinking of a quick line to tell her they are sold!*
Me: About 2 ft...I hate to say this, but I already had a gentlemen call today who was interested in BOTH (lie) and he is on his way out this evening (not a lie)
2nd: How do you tell if them are boys or girls?
Me: (tempted to tell her "I ask them..") You usually have to have them probed by a vet to get an accurate sexing of the snake.
2nd: Weeeelll, whereabouts are you at?
Me: Rogers.
2nd: Oh well, Im in Fort Smeeith
Me: Well, you can check back in with me this evening and see if I still have them (which I promise, for her... I wont)
2nd: I uh I uh dont know how I will come and git them since I dont have a car!!
Me: (Finally Ive had enough) Well it is probably better if you get a CAR first, in case one ever gets sick and you have to take it to the vet...or buy its food..
2nd: Ah, well I gots plennny of maaiice (mice) runnin around heres to feed it, I wuz jus gonna let it have free roam of the house and let it git rid of mah maaaice!
ME: *CLICK*
YIKE!
