I usually give it to the guitar shop LOL
seriously...its not hard to do...I just wound mine on fairly loose and then gently tightened it down till it was tuned up...do you have a tuner?

The best thing to break in your strings is to simply play it and keep re-tuning. If you have the time, try about an hour of playing and re-working them. It usually took me about two days to break in mine.
As far as the actuall restringing goes...that is fairly straight forward and if you have been playing any amount of time you will have no trouble with it.

to restring a guitar it helps to have a winder/unwinder tool. not neccessary, just faster. Loosen all the machine heads as if tuning the guitar real low. do this until the string can be popped out of the end nearest the sound hole. generally the rule is too take one string off at a time and replace it and continue so the neck doesn't get too much stress on it from the new strings. you will need to tune the guitar several times before it will stay tuned. also stretch the strings as you go by slightly pulling up as if shooting a bow. good luck!

Oh, hey... is it a CLASSICAL guitar that you are stringing up? If you slap nylons on an acoustic they are going to be really loose... and if they are the tie-on kind, they won't even work at all.
The above guitar pictured is an acoustic. A classical should have big oval holes in the headstock, where the tuning pegs will intersect.
