i found peanut :)
my BP escaped about a week ago. i have been getting up at 3:30 in the morning to go to work and i am half asleep. well i got up and he hadnt ate his rat and it was starting to smell so i reached in and got the dead rat out. i didn't put the lid on tight. when i got home i went to say hi to all my snakes. i moved peanuts water bowl (he hides there always (and no peanut). we all searched my house and when we moved the dresser the maintenance people had not put the piece if wall back on that goes to the plumbing in the bathroom. i just knew he got in the wall! i was so upset. so i got a flash light and looked in the wall, he could get to te other apartments from there! lo and behold i found him curled up. he was wedged under something and i couldnt get my hand in. so i grabbed the snake hook and got that around him. i was scared to yank cause i couldnt see where i had him hooked. my daughter told me to hold the flash light and she would pull him out. i handed her the hook and at that time the heat lamp came flying down from his cage and almost hit her in the head. she let go of the hook and off her went! he crawled through the whole that could go to other apartments. i almost started crying cause i was sure i would never se him again.
i left the dresser pulled away from the wall and checked the next few days to no avail i pretty much gave up hope.
well last night at 4 am i got up to go to the bathroom and almost stepped on him he was so cold. i put him in his nice warm tank and he drank his water for 10 minutes and then went and layed on his heat pad and right under his lamp when the petshop opens i am going to go get him his favorite meal...a few mice. he isn't allowed mice anymore cause he is to big but for a treat he is getting some. then i can suffer getting him to eat rats again.

Good to hear! I used to have snakes escape on me all the time, back when I had a few w/c garters. Those things are escape artists! It was really stressful trying to find them, but they'd always mock me and sit somewhere that was very easy to find them, such as my sock drawer and on top of the keyboard to my computer, which was at least 70 feet and 2 doors away.

I haven't had Ruby really escape yet in the year and a half I have had her. I thought she escaped once when she was hiding in her papertowel roll which I thought was too small for her. I have had T escape before in my room but a nearly 2' lizard that hisses whenever you get near him wasn't hard to find at all. I am glad you found him and hope he doesn't get out again!!! They truelly are escape artists

Yep my Ball Python got out once at my old place...1st snake, 1st escape..It was totally my fault, didnt weight the lid down...Found her after about the longest 15mins of my life...She didnt go far..was behind the fridge. Then, just a month ago, I pulled a smooth one, and left the slab of granite off the top of her cage (weights it down, so she cant push it open) She and the little one got out..He didnt make it far, was under the couch..She was again ALMOST behind the fridge, sitting on the window sill..Both of them were ice cold, so I warmed up their tanks and swore NEVER to do that again! I glued a hasp on, so now we dont have a problem...Plus the corn snake's tank sits on top of theirs..so no more escapees.
