so angry!
Yeah so Im watching fear factor and just saw something that really made me angry! They put the girl in a plexy glass coffin looking thing that is seperated into three parts, they covered her head and feet with bugs, then covered her torso in.... you guessed it an assortment of snakes. they then make her sort through the snakes to find the white ones, once she finds them she is supposed to put them in a tub thats next to her. which doesnt sound that bad, but while shes sorting through them she is flailling them around and throwing them out where they then land on the floor! she was like smashing them and, well it was awfull! Those poor snakes, she had to have seriously injured at least half of them! I am totally appaled, I wish there was something I could do about it!

It's true they do that stuff alot. I don't understand how they don't have ASPCA all over them for animal cruelty sometimes.

I have seen an episodes with snakes too. I think I've seen it twice and both times they had abuse of snakes. Once they had the contestant in a large large container of water and they were handcuffed and had to go to the bottom of the container and then they filled the container with a bunch of snakes. The snakes were getting stepped on, thrown out of the way. It was horrible. I have no idea how they can do that either. I liked Joe Rogan because he was funny on UFC and I liked to listen to him. I totally lost all respect from that.

OMG!! See, this is why I dont have cable!! What a complete crock! I cant believe they would allow that...And why hasnt the SPCA had a field day with it...Although if it is like down here, they have no authority, it is local officials who have the authority. Someone should complain about it..
Wonder if PETA has seen it? Dont get me wrong, I dont agree with MOST of what PETA stands for, but if they can help put a stop to things such as this, then more power to them.

If I'm not mistaken animal officials of all kinds have been after this for years. Their hands are somehow tied. There was a stink about dead rats a couple years ago if I remember correctly, and these rats were dead already. The snakes are alive. They had an article about it somewhere that said that in one of the episodes (I didn't see) had snakes dumped on the people laying down and they had to lay in this clear plastic box. The contestants said the snakes were ice cold. In the article it explained that the snakes were chilled to keep them inactive and concerns were for diseases that could be spread fron one species snake to another since they had a bunch of different species together, ie. burmese, BCI, corns, kings, etc. They said that one had obvious body damage probably to its ribs and one of them had a missaligned jaw from the mishandling.
For one reason or another that makes no sense to me, there is no governing body that controls the safety of animals on television.

I think it is all because most people don't think that snakes have the cute factor. It is sad but true. Most people just don't like snakes, so its ok to them.

This is true; nobody cares about snakes.
I can see thousands of Americans sitting at home in their livingrooms watching it and feeling sorry for the humans who were subjected to the terror of the snakes. Kind of makes Steve Irwin look like a saint, doesn't it?
I also feel bad for the cockroaches and the other inverts that frequently appear on the show, usually to be eaten, dismembered, or trod upon. But if people don't care for snakes, they care even less for 'creepy crawlies'.
It's a shame.
