So hard to walk away from!
So tody I was at my buddies shop again and he had got some new cages and animals in and was trying to make room for everything. I was handling this 4ft boa for a while and Chuck (the owner) comes up to me w/ this confused look on his face and offers me the snake for $35 even though it says $150 on the cage.... It was a beautiful 4 foot colombian that was the sweetest thing ever and had all this orange and purple on its sides, so beautiful. Anyway- so then I complained to him I didn't have another big cage and I don't feel like puting him in a small cage. So he offers to sell me one of his 4x2x2 cages and the snake for $150 total.....
That is an amazing deal and the cage was practically new, the snake beautiful, and I had the money but I had to walk away... I thought it over for a good 30 minutes the hole time knowing its not a good time to bring home another snake... I also thought about how all of you guys would probably yell at me =P. So anyway, just wanted to all tell you about the biggest tease of my week... I mean ideally I have the room and time for another snake but its just not practical right now. Soooo hard to say no though

It's not that I wasn't allowed to get it, I just didn't think it would be best. 2 snakes and 2 lizards is good for right now.

You're lucky - "Dad" in our house hates snakes (anything without legs he says LOL!) and "There's never gonna be a snake in this house"... We've now got 2 snakes and 4 lizards
And BTW - I'm the mom and I LOVE 'em all! I've been told no more snakes though - but I do have plans for an RTB and a Piebald BP ...

Yup, it is my husband who says no more snakes, or pets period. I say snakes can be stacked and are easy to take care of. The only thing I ever ask of him is that he hold them while I clean up. Occasionally if I'm working in the evening I'll ask that he move them from the feeding container but mostly I do all the work and caring for. They are the chepest of all our other animals. But, what daddy says goes.

My mother has never seen my apartment and I've been there going on 2 years. She says she's afraid one of the snakes is going to get out and kill her or something (seeing as until about 2 weeks ago I didnt even have anything over three and a half foot, I find this unreasonable but ok). We're building some stackable enclosures with locks in a few weeks, and mom has agreed that if they are locked and she has the keys she will come in so a friend of mine has agreed to make a "curtain" to go over them so she doesn't have to see them when she comes over. Jeez

I know I think ignorance is NOT ALWAYS bliss..
My in laws ask that we move the snakes into the other room, otherwise my mother in law starts spazzing, crying and going into hysterics...*much like our wedding day*
