ATTN: Residents of Arizona!

Help me keep you safe...

I am an Arizona State Corrections employee and herp enthusiast. I would like to enlist everyones help as residents of Arizona. Thank you in advance for all who may take the time to read this and email their representatives.

Copy the below letter into each individual email for the representatives and senators. There are 90 of them, and they each need to receive an individual email. If you know that a Rep or Senator is working in our favor, personalize the message and say thank you.

Attach the PDF file as an attachment ONLY. Link to PDF file with images

Do not place the pictures directly in the body of your email. Forward this email to your friends and family, and ask that they as registered voters send also, be sure to put your name at the end of the letter.
You may find the links to the email addresses below.

Dear Representative/Senator,
4800 dedicated Law Enforcement Professionals work in our States Correctional System, protecting your safety; ensuring criminals won't victimize your neighbors, ensuring that inside the fences, safety and order are preserved, as well as providing training for inmates to reduce recidivism. The risks are high, and there is no guarantee that when the shift is over, they'll be home on time.
Imagine finding a homemade knife, before it reached its intended use, or talking a convicted murderer out of cutting his wrist with a razor blade that could easily be used on you. Imagine responding to a radio call for help, because one of the few officers working your shift is being beaten by an inmate who just had a bad day. Most citizens would not be willing to walk into a violent environment knowing that most of the people they'll interact with have shown that they can't, or won't contribute to society. Our State Correctional Officers do it well, and they've earned the opportunity to work for a livable wage.
Unlike their higher profile counterparts you see every day, these men and women are unarmed, relying on their ability to communicate. Your Correctional Officers work with people who've committed serious crimes, the child molesters, rapists, murderers, thieves, and drug addicts.
One could earn more elsewhere, and be home safely, on time daily, like the Public they protect. Or one could earn more in a County facility, who offer a salary enough to ensure sufficient staffing on all shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your State Correctional Officers keep coming back, often being required to work overtime two to three times per week protecting the Public's Safety.
Attached, are several recent photos of a California Correctional Officer who was injured in an assault while doing his job, keeping the Public Safe. Before you view the pictures, please know that they are extremely graphic, and should you be disturbed by the sight of serious injuries, I recommend you don't view them.
I'm supporting the Governor's "Market Rate" pay plan for Correctional Officers, and I sincerely ask that you seriously consider its merits. It's a common sense approach to solving a long term problem. In consideration of the information presented, I'm sure you agree that the cost is worth every penny if it helps attract and retain staff in order to continue providing our public's safety with the excellence you've come to know.
I sincerely thank you for your service to the Citizens of the State of Arizona, and ask you to join me in support of the Governor's Correctional Officer Pay Plan. It's important that we set aside any differences we have in the interest of Public Safety.
Sincerely,
