The exorcism of Emily Rose
Has anyone seen this...how "true" is it?

It is supposedly a true story. Actually, let me clarify: "Based on actual events". Pretty good movie. Have you seen it?

I didn't like it much...mind you, I never knew it was based on a court case and thought it would be more like the Exorcism.

yes---I saw it --but then when I saw it was supposed to be true--I kept thinking of the Exorcist...and how that story got changed and how most of it was bogus and I wondered about this one as well

I thought the movie was good, I actually found it scarier then Exorcist because it was more realistic and something you could see actually happening... unlike a girl walking down the stairs like a spider then spinning her head around in circles.
I think its a good movie.

How much of it is bull or real can't be proven. It's a matter of your beliefs or disbeliefs. Was it something mental or was she possessed? Put satan on the witness stand and ask him...otherwise, it's like any other faith/religious/psychological debate...There are scientific explanations and there are religious explanations...none of which can actually be proven or disproven at least while we are alive.

yeah but have you researched the Exorcist? I was very disappointd to learn that the movie was VERY exaggerated and the guy who was showcased was probably faking the whole thing--if you look into it it was all lies.

The Exorcist was great--it was just a lie.
This movie I'm thinking was probably a lie too---or most of it anyway.
It was ok...

Here's a link to some info I found http://www.fotofetch.com/#top It sounds to me (from what I have read and heard) that the movie was written with a more "current" storyline, as far as she was in college, etc. I guess more "modernized" PLUS it's a 2 hour movie (at the most), and all of these things obviously happend over time so they dramatized it in the fact that it was one thing after the other (actually, from what I have read it was about four years from when the "symptoms" of epilepsy presented and the first exorcisim occured).

The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel
is the name of the book.....if you read the story it's not half as---dramatic---as the movie

I absolutely believe that the movie was more exciting than the actual events, but that is what the majority of people want to see. A lot of people want to see an exaggerated telling of what actually happened, not because it is exaggerated, but because it is more intriguing.

Yes, it actually could have been psychosis, but there isn't a way to know. Even when she was alive (during the time period this actually took place), it would have been hard to tell one way or another.
Have you read the book? Was the lawyer actually harrassed at 3 am, or was that one of the dramatized events? That would weird me out if it actually is documented.
