so what are your valentine day plans?

and what did you get your special someone? i got my girl a bear that says i love you, and a big arrangement of carnations, that im gonna bring into her school to give her tomarrow. i have to work 12-6, then afterwords im goin over her house to hang out. what are you guys up to?

I'll buy my kids a little bear or something but other then that I think we're going to have a very low key Valentines. My hubby knows I love him. I guess we could call his toe surgery an early valentines present. LOL. I did let him veg on drugs for a few days. Does that count?

Im a jobless loser so valeintines day is noting special this year just me and my girl(fiance) sitting around doing what we always do on tuesday...... watch House that show kicks major butt LOL!

I sent her a pajamagram and i finally got her wedding and engagement rings joined and sized, only took hmmm 11 years lol.

I have a big test on Wed. so some classmates are going to come over and study. I got my husband some candy and a new hat. Not very romantic this year but I'm going to try hard next year when I have the time.

not to sound like scrooge, cuz im in a relationship as are most of my good friends but we just call V-day "Single Awareness day" and not to be cliche but you know what they say why do i need a special day to do something special when i can do it anyday?.. I personally feel that something done for me on V-day doesnt hold as much weight simply becuz its like its supposed to be done..id rather you surprise me on may 23rd or something ya kno...Happy Single Awareness day tho nonetheless

Being single by choice on a day like Valentines Day is a good thing sometimes.

Myself and two old very dear friends who for one reason or another this year are single will be having a little dinner and a movie thing. Carla who is 36 and Tina who is my age (32) dated in the past but we were all sane enough to figure out rather early into the relationship that it wasn't a grand idea. So we forged good solid friendships and have a long standing offer of whoever is single Valentines Day we will get together and enjoy each others company and friendship. First year in 9 years it has been all three of us though. The dating pool in Alabama is pretty shallow.

Fly to Birmingham and fill in for me. I would rather spend time by myself than listen to how bad guys are for hours on end..

I totally agree with this except for one thing (and this is SAD!) if we didn't have a specific day where we HAD to take the time to do something nice for each other and go on a date, we would never do it. I mean, we go out and stuff, but we never really do random things for each other anymore. I don't know if it's part of being married or broke or busy or what, it just doesn't happen... only on birthdays and valentine's.

I kind of like our Valentine's steak dinner tradition, though. I'm glad we make a point of doing it every year. I would also rather not get anything at all. Spending money on gifts 'just because' seems silly and frivolous to me because of our current financial situation. Just a nice dinner and some talk and personal time, and I'm happy.

james and i are getting each other the snake that we have been talking about. (in the so excited thread) it looks to be a peruvian but we arent sure yet.
