Hey just curious, but did anyone else have a facination with dinosaurs as kids? I never thought about it until today when I was going through all my old books, but when I was a kid I was just Way hooked on dinosaurs. I loved 'em. Almost coincidental that I'd be really interested in 'scaled beasts' as a kid, think nothing of them for a good 6 or 7 years and then wind up becomming a reptile fanatic. So I was wondering if its kinda common...any other reptile 'freaks' out there who loved dinosaurs as a kid?

Just popped into my head so don't mind me....

I loved dinosaurs... but more than dinosaurs, I love snakes Too bad my mother had a deathly hatred of them - which is one reason I love my boa so much: she'll neeeever come by unexpected

LOL Woapalanne...

I loved dinosaurs as a kid. As a matter of fact, I was a big animal freak, always have been. I once had a ribbon snake at the ripe old age of 8, but gave it back to the pet store pretty shortly after I got it. Never put any thought into keeping a snake again until my 2nd year of college, and look where I am.

Come to think of it, can you name any 2nd grader who isn't fascinated with dinosaurs?

Bry

I was pretty fascinated with dinosaurs when I was growing up. I still remember digging a 4' hole with my bear hands looking for dinosaur eggs when I was about 4 or 5.

I LOVE THEM ...and still like to watch them on Jurassic Park
I always used to collect dinosaur magazines..every month running to the store to buy them
maybe thats why i love snakes to .....and sometimes when my boa's head sticks out of some leaves ..it really looks like the raptor that killed that australian-raptor guy in the first JP movie..so cool

Discovery Channel, Monday nights, Prehistoric Predators, summer series...I never miss it.

Dinosaurs led me to reptiles when I was about 6...haven't looked back...but I love the whole evolution thing...

I had all the lick and stick sticker books on dinos when I was a lil one.
And I grew up to love them also.
With the exception of Barney and friends, everything reptile is pretty good.

Without doubt! I built a stegosaurus, more or less, out of a bleached & baked chicken skeleton (and a lot of glue, and a lot of imagination) when I was five. But more than anything, snakes were *it.* Catching a garter snake in the yard, a snake edition of Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins, the every three years' visit to the Philadelphia Zoo reptile house -- now there were some things to celebrate. I kept garter snakes in a terrarium I had a few times, but I could never get them to eat, and fortunately for them they always escaped before very long. I'm not sure why, but I had the idea that what a garter snake would want was a ball of raw hamburger, dangled on a string. Kind of like soap on a rope. Makes me wonder now what I expected would happen to the string if the snake were so hungry as to swallow the meat blob. But anyway -- yeah, dinosaurs were cool too.
