Hunting, wish me luck!

First day of rifle season tomorrow... I'm sooooooo excited! It seems this time of year comes again so much quicker as every year goes by.

I've never really done any serious buck hunting, so I'll be doing that tomorrow and possibly Tuesday as well. I hope I get somethin this year! It'd be nice to get something two years in a row, since I got a little button buck last year. I've been hunting since 2001. The place I scouted today, I was finding buck prints bigger than my fist!

And my mom and dad got me my own brand spankin' new Marlin 30-30 semi-automatic rifle with a 40x scope and other goodies. It's a gorgeous gun, I may get some pics of it up later. And it's right-on, too! I'm glad I have my own big rifle now, cause I used to have to borrow my uncle's 30-30.

Nothin' like gettin' up at 4am and hittin' the woods before daylight, and smellin' all the hunting gear and the wilderness.... mmm.... good stuff.

Ahh not to quibble, but are you saying you got a 30-30 Marlin leveraction rifle?? With a 4X scope??

Used on of those for years...If your rifle likes them, get some of those 150grn Starfires...They are made by PMC and if ya get a good heart/lung shot, they will deliver the goods pretty much every time..

This year I am using a shotgun loaded with slugs..Rifle was destroyed in a fire, so instead of using it as an excuse to get a new gun, I am gonna break in that slug barrel I bought 2 years ago for pig and bear hunting but never used...

I do hope you bag the big one this year, as a casual hunter myself I know how exciting it is to go scouting and see nice large tracks. You like myself are one of the few females I know that hunt, most concider it beneath them :P Anyways good luck and have fun!

Hmm.... I'll have to get back to you on that one. lol Yes it is leveraction, but I'll have to get back to you about the scope. I consider the leveraction kinda semi-automatic... but anyways.. lol
