lol! It's a game. Who ever has the highest points wins the game! I don't know what you win, but I'm sure it's good.

O' Come on Wreck. You have two squares--That can't be it.

Well, it could be an indication of how disagreeable we are but Adrya wouldn't qualify for that......

If you mouse over the squares it will say something like "TekWarren is an unkown entity at this point" or "wreckwriter will become famouse soon enough" I've seen some others when they get into the negative say something like so and so should learn some manors... Sounds like the squares are attatched to the rep power maybe? or a warning system. I don't care for the rep system myself and not just because I was dropped to 2 points in a single topic that others didn't agree or understand me in :P Its kinda like who's popular and who don't we like...more than who was helpfull and who wasn't. Its all good though!
Make that 19 rep points and I'm standing a positve 2...ROFL WOOT! (sarcasm)

If you click on "user CP" at the top of the page, it shows you who gave you your rep points, which post they gave them for, and, if the person that gave them gave a reason or a comment, it displays that, too.
I don't like the system, either. It only takes one person to develop an issue with you for whatever reason, and your 'reputation' can be completely destroyed. All they have to do is find a bunch of posts by you and give you negative points, and they can do it for no reason at all. Because of that, it can become a game of popularity and revenge.
I don't consider rep points to be an accurate way of gauging a person's knowledge and usefullnes on a board.

There's at least some control on that. I tried to give points to someone I had previously give points to and it said something like "You need to spread the rep points around before giving more to this person". I don't know exactly what the rules are though.

Sara,
Maybe there's a setting for it? I don't know, mine pops right up when I click on user CP.
WW: that's good to know, I wasn't aware of that. But I have seen people go a little crazy on it, even if it is only one post at a time. Occassionally people will gang up on an admin and boost others in their group with positive rep points (or so it seems) and threaten to give others a bunch of bad rep points over silly disagreements. Overall, I don't think it's a good representation.
