I have spent so much time on that site. At our old house we had a strip of land between two fences that remained neglected as it was no ones property. It was the perfect place for snakes of all kinds. That is one of the things I love about NC. Here I have only seen one brown snake but we are overrun with anoles, 5-lined skinks and even saw a Texas horn toad (to my surprise. I had no idea what that sucker was until I found it on that site).
My mom has brown snakes all over her yard and she freaks thinking they are copperheads. I had to send her to that site and show her that copperheads had much funnier head and are much prettier then the brown snakes. Most of them are small so she thought they were babies until I told her that the baby copperheads have yellow tails. Now she'll garden right next to a snake without blinking. I just hope one of them doesn't turn out to really be a copperhead for real without her realizing it. LOL.
