Your brain allows you to see it that way because you peripheral vision is more of an estimate you brain makes as to what it is seeing. Everyone has a blind spot. You do not become aware of it unless you look at the little test piece of paper with two dots on it. If you look at one dot, the other disapears. Poeple who have problems with their feild of vision usually are not aware of it. If you have a physical problem with the cones and rods (the things u use to see), and have an area in you field of vision you do not see, your brain takes the areas around it that you can see and makes up what it thinks is there. Really neat stuff.
