Julius, no offense intended, and i dont want to start another attack-a-thon, but you really need to do some of your own research on hypothermia related death and what happens to a living thing when frozen. there is no pain. there is no panic. there is no clawing for the walls. after shiverring, numbness sets in. NO PAIN. read, search, look it up. I've had frost bite and been hypothermic many a time, growing up in chicago. i can attest to these first hand.

Whether the actual transition to freezing to death is painful is not the issue. The long period of time when they are just really cold and shivering is. I myself hate to be cold and shivering. It's not a happy time.

and when you bash them over the head how long is it before they actually die??? its been proven when a person's head is CUT OFF they live for at least 60 seconds completely aware of what has happened. how do you know the rodent isn't still aware while being digested??

If the rats are bonked in the head and not completely dead, then the constricting of them will kill them before they're eaten anyhow.

jjmetro, I know when it is freezing outside I hurt. That isn't even freezing to death, I feel like my face is being torched in the cold. And that is for a short period of time. I imagine I would probably go into a panic knowing I would feel this until I finally pass out and die. I can't stand to let my dogs out in the cold when I look out and my poor short haired doberman is out there with her whole body shivering. I could not put an animal through that.
