I have done some dove hunting this year (I think the season is over, or going to be over this week or next).

I plan to go deer, hog, turkey, duck, pheasant and quail hunting this year

Well this will be my first year to Turkey hunt, and I have heard the same thing. From what a good friend of mine tells me (he turkey hunts every year) its not that they are really smart, its that they are really sciddish (is that how you spell it?).

Either way, It should be really fun

I used to hunt a long time ago. I got to where I hate the taste of deer meat though and YES, I know how to cook it. So if I won't eat it, I can't justify killing it.

Toker, it may be a bit outdated now (I haven't shopped for bows in a really long time) but I have a decent pearson bow with a pendalum sight, overdraw, peep sight that needs new rubber tubing, cable seperator, balance, trigger and quiver...even a few cut down arrows you can have for 50 bucks. It hits pretty hard. I don't remember the pull. I think somewhere between 50 and 75 but you pick up a lot of speed with the overdraw. At 50 yards I can group in the bullseye and actually have to move my aim around a bit to keep from messing up the arrows. I bought it new sometime in the mid to late 80s.

I've never been turkey hunting but I did have a big fat turkey walk right up to me one day within 10 yards when I was wearing blaze orange sitting in the open in a ladder stand. Brave bird. It was a few days before thanksgiving and I hadn't been to the grocery store yet Lucky for him though, he was out of season and I had 150 miles to drive home and wasn't going to do it with a dead wild turkey in the truck.
