Mouse as pet?
The other day, my cats were batting around a mouse, when one of them bit it and carried it away. I stopped the cat and grabbed the mouse out of its mouth. I was going to lets the cats play with it or eat it or whatever it is they would have done to a it. Needless to say my cats were P.O.ed but I had an extra 10 gal tank and figured I would keep it because it was cool. I have it set up right now in my room, and its pretty jumpy as you can imaging, and I am sure it wont calm down beng the fact that it was a wild mouse. My question is, is it OK to keep the mouse? Will it suffer for stress? What are the chances of it surviving? Its the coolest mouse I have ever seen, and would love to be able to keep it, but if I have to get rid of it so I dont do more harm than good I will. Opinions? Facts? Post-

Well its probably a field mouse. They are pretty cute looking. SO CUTE. But to be honest, they don't fare well in captivity. They have pretty strong survival instincts. I'd let it go. And really, do you think it would be happier in a cage or outside? Sorry for the bummer they are adorable!!

Yep those field mice are cuties, my cat has a nack for finding them during the "in-between" months of harvest (we live next to fields) when they somehow find a way into our house.
Same suggestion, don't keep it. It'll only drive your cats crazier.
