I was feeding my snakes and I put in a dead rat... I always kill them myself right before putting them in, my RTB went for the kill, was wrapped around the rat when all of a sudden the rat woke up! I think I was more surprised than my poor RTB...
Lucky he had a good grip and it was over in seconds... ooops!
Ever happen to any of you?

Please don't put a question mark as the subject line. And yes it has happened before. THe constrictors usually just start squeezing a little harder.

I breed my own rats so I don't like the freezing method... I tried it once when I ran out of rats and they just wouldn't go for frozen... I guess a year of fresh killed spoiled my guys.

Not to get to graphic... but let's just say it was a good whack and I had a good reason to believe it was dead... no more... an ex rat.

Happened to me just the other day. Was using the pencil method and heard a very obvious noise, complete with the dying motions. Once the snake struck though it was up immediately. Very weird.

Hehe..
Ya just tysoned it!
Anyways, quit burying your snakes food in the pet semetary.
And Squirgle, I think ya broke the pencil!
Any time you whack'em and feed'em it's a good idea to watch, just in case cause if they aren't constricted or not constricted properly, the food can wake up a little psycho and do a lot of damage to their eater.
But yeah, snakes can be re-converted back to f/t by using the same methods used to get them to take it in the first place.
