opinions needed urgently !!!
i'm looking for my 4th snake at the moment, something a bit different and i'm spoilt for choice at my local herp store they have a yearling jcp, yearling eastern indigo and a new born king rat. i'm totally stuck on what to go for and advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated i've handled all of them they all fine and healthy and have good dispostions. they also have adult indigos i've handled the male he's pushing seven feet and an amazing snake so i'm leaning towards the yearling indigo at the moment. does anyone have any pics of an adult king rat or info dont know much about them apart from they grow to about 8-10 feet. please help me make a decision !!!

i dont think i'll be goin with the king rat from what i've found out they have highly developed musk glands and tend to use them and its apparently foul so its a toss between a jcp and an indigo, but i really can't make a decision the adult indigos are really cool but so are jcps, another thing in favour of the jcp its £50 cheaper but indigos are pretty hard to find usually.

Totally...
you can get a JCP just about any time and place... but an indigo....
I know which one I'd choose too.
"Take a break from the ordinary"
(not calling JCP's ordinary, just I can list 30 people off the top of my head who have them)
I can only count about 2 that have indigos.

get jcps as indigos are very active snakes and make a lot of mess which needs cleaning more than your average colubrid or boid as their metabolism is so fast and the jcps are a slower snake and accept handling very well but some indigos can be a little aggressive

i think thats the best idea pick up the indigo, get a jcp later, its the first indigos i've ever seen on sale in the uk so i can't miss the oppurtunity. they are amazing looking snakes there pretty mellow to handle as well especially the 6 foot plus adults they just hang out really, the male yearling i'm getting is a bit more lively but nowhere near a active as my cali. they remind me a bit of my 6 foot bci to handle they just give the impression they know there powerful and seem to take everything in their stride or slide. i put a deposit down for the indigo today so i'll be picking him up at some point during the week. i'll post pics as soon as i'm get him. i will get a jcp at a later date gives me chance to design a nice semi aboreal viv. thanks for all your input.

Indigo snake all the way. Indigos are amazing snakes. They are a bit more "unique".
