On the news at noon today in Miami :
This is channel 7, the TV "Enquirer" around here. Very sensational with the news.
"6 Feet of EVIL in the Backyard" (film at 11...)
Lady calls 911, big alligator in the backyard. (This is unexpected even when your backyard gives out to a swamp!!)... Police and animal services come out and say "heck with that, too big". So they call this fellow Tom who runs "Pesky Critters", a wild life removal co. He jumps the alligator, ties it up.
A neighbour shows up. He claims hi's chi-hua-hua has been missing for a couple of days, the alligators belly looks extremely "round", like something just made it in there.
So here is the shoker : They are going to KILL the alligator to see if the dog is in there. (!)
Commentator explains nothing will go to "waste" : skin for shoes/purse/belt, meat to local restaurant and skull will be preped for display/sale.
I love dogs, but this is ridiculous/stupid!! Who cares if the dog is in there??? Is dead by now. What if it isn't?? (Ups, sorry Mr. Alligator, our bad...) What happened to releasing them in the everglades???
If this earth is ever lucky, we WILL blow ourselves with the nukes...
And then, more alligator news (but they guy is just funny!!)

Thats ridiculous
take a sampleL: if the dog ate the alligator the dog wouldn't get killed , but when the alligator eats a dog the alligator gets killed...
And when the snake eats a dog/cat the snake gets killed but if the dog eats the snake nothing happens

All that for a maybe .....
It's a big rat on acid looking dog, and willprolly turn up afterwards as most little dogs hide well when a real predator is near.
I'm just glad that attitude and lack of sense wasn't around when I was youger...
I definately woulda been gutted for tipping cows...
And all it would take is one smart aleck farmer to say " I got a few head missin', by the way, his belly looks dang full!"

first off... do they really think a #$%^$%^$%^$%^& Chihuahua is gonna leave any kind of bulge in a 6' alligator? THose are some really intelligant people there.
Not to mentin the dog has been missin for a couple days at the minimum.. Wouldnt it be history by now?
Is this what happens to people when they stay out in the sun too long? They just turn dumb as #$%^$%^$%^$%^& or what?

I was thinking the same thing BO, people are just looking for an excuse to kill somthing and cut it up. after all it's just an alligator . and an alligator is way less important than a chi-hua-hua, even a dead chi-hua-hua is more important than an alligator. GEZZE, what ignorant ph**ks. -Juggalo

Why would anyone want to eat one of those? they are all skin and bones!!! That said... it really sucks. that's the way nature goes... Chihuahua's are just low on the food chain. I mean I love dogs and all, but he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. End of story!
Is he dead already (the aligator), or can something still be done?

The Chihuahua probably tried to bite the gators ankle, so he ate it!!!
No really though, that is ridiculous! How bout we kill them to see if they ate the farmers cow or somthing. Even if they didnt, what would we accomplish? More Death! SOmthing there is WAYYY too much of in this day and age anyhow....let show everyone we're tough and kill the inocent gator for living in his own territory.
SHEESHHHH
Id like to skin THEM and wear THEM as a hat.

Just for info : They claim they send the TAIL to the restaurant. I didn't know they sell this on the menu around here...
Anyway, I haven't heard anything again and, strangely, it is not on their web site, while many other items ("baby gorilla born at the zoo" are... hummm
What I found most strange is that the "Pesky Critters" guy would allow this. He has been featured in Animal Planet "Wild Rescues" for getting a monitor lizzard out of a car engine (and saving it's life) and he has a mini-zoo at his house. Would the police have the power to say "kill it so we can check the inside"???
Anyway, I am at work today so I can't monitor the news for follow ups... sorry.

YOU LIVE BY A SWAMP DEAL WITH IT!!!!!! If your gonna live next to the everglades A) Get a #$%^$%^$%^$%^& good fence put up if you don't like alligators in your backyard. B) Don't buy a dog thats the size of a jumbo rat(and just as attractive) C)Hmmm my dog has been gone for a few days.... Well you sure didn't take the proper precautions to keep your dog safe did you? D) Oh Yeah this swamp wasn't here when we moved here. Ummmm who was here first a few million gators that have been on this earth for som 60 million years, or Humans? Ya knew the place was alligator infested when you moved there. But yet now an innocent alligator is gonna die for some stupid person's tiny appetizer of a dog that probably well digested already and they will say Oh we cant tell for certain. GIVE ME A BEAK. Can I get off this planet, there must some intellegent life forms out there!!! Ed i agree with you word for word. It is stupid the way people treat animals. I about go belistic when someone i know says they killed a snake or lizard just cause it was in their yard or garden. Last year my great aunt had 5 garter snakes in her flower garden in a mating ball is what i suppose cause she claims they were all wound up together. She killed one and the other fled under her house. they all looked like the one that was dead according to her. But at least 4 got away. To bad the alligator had to die. Yeah I have heard of FL having Alligator meats. I know someone who had some and said it wasnt that bad and when he went back to the Keys this summer he was gonna eat some more. I was gonna be sick. (the thought of eating my friend's pet) sheesh. I thought you werent suppose to kill American Alligators anyway...
