Here, you want something to complain about?
Scroll down until you see "ITEM: NO EYE'S HATCHLING RED EAR SLIDER ".
http://www.turtlesale.com/rare-turtles1.html
Is it the same thing as breeding a het albino whatever back to it's parents?
NO. (imo)
I never heard of these people before, and I have no problem with lots of stuff that goes on with morphs and linebreeding. Some people ask me where I draw the line...well, right here.
Go get 'em.
(mods please disregard post to Reptile Related News...I saw this and got all trigger happy)

i agree.at the last reptile show i went to there was a guy there that was carrying around a 6 ft burmese python that was born with no eyes.he was showing it off.i do rescue work and believe they all deserve a home no matter what there problems are, but to take it to a show.i couldnt believe it.then to find out he was selling it for $3000.00 .i thought he had to be nuts or not know much about breeding.alot of the real breeders were saying had it been one of theres it wouldnt be alive today and if it was still alive it wouldnt still be in there collection.

Thats horrible. I agree with you in that the line needs to be drawn somewhere. Inbreeding needs to be publically critisized and banned from the herp world. And besides, who wants a blind turtle. I know they can smell and sense the enviroment but its like looking at a bunch of no-eyed humans. No one wants to see that, let alone it be happening in the first place. People who pay $90 for a blind turtle where the most entertainment you are gunna get out of it is see it run into walls are stupid. This should be considered animal cruelty considering they are purposely creating genetic mutations for money and cheap thrills. I wonder what these people are thinking in their heads to make this seem right in any way. I hope none of them sell and they are all stuck with their blind turtles.

LOL. I saw this in both the reptile related news submissions and just talk.... so I moved the one with the replies to RRN. Then I read your comment. Oh well... it's back were it should be.

I agree, those should be culled or given away as pets only. $90 for a turtle with no eyes... how sad. and $3K for a burm with no eyes... what the heck? Sheesh, soon it will be: only $2K! snake with big lump on it's side, could be babies, could be a tumor, was born with kinked spine to boot! new tumor snake! Buy it while it's hot!
I can *kind* of understand the two-headed snakes.. pet stores or educational places buying them for display purpose only (not to breed AFAIK) but this is getting ridiculous, it's the derma ball all over again.
