"JuliusSqueezer! Are you giving poor Harold a bad time or is there something about these sweet thangs I have not found yet?" she asked with wonder.

ROTFLMAO
Keep in mind that people tend to create website entries the day they bring new pets home. Give them a month or two...they will be singing different notes.

js,that is the funniest reply i have ever heard.after reading that i will never get one of those.after the problom feeding, knuckles being bitten, pulling out your hair, and making up new cuss words,i just cant see what would be enjoyable about having one.
Smart chick!

knight45 is on a distinguished road
i have a friend who has a pair of solomon island ground boas, and he loves they sooo much. then again he looses alot of blood because of them, so that may have something to do with it.
i have another friend who adopted a viper boa because someone clould not keep it anymore. and the first time he picked it up, the little bugger nailed him 9 times, that was not a type-o, 9 friggen times. it would only eat live, coloured mice when all the lights were out, and when no one was around.

but i must say they are very nice looking.

i think a hog isle boa would be best, i am getting a pair in a month. i can't wait.

I really do appreciate all the input - and the efforts to save my sanity (LOL) - where would be the best place to find specifics regarding care of these guys: rosy boa, sand boa, hog island boa. Guess I like knowing more about the care before making a decision or at least giving myself choices. And are there any reputable breeders in the Southwest area or should I look elsewhere?

Hogg Island boa care is really no different then your common BCI... although you could keep the enclosure 2 deg. cooler (86warm\76-78cool). They are also semi-arboreal. Having climbing props will help deter them from nose rubbing. Other then that, just click the link in my sig for a general BC care sheet and a ton of other links on boa care.
